How Much St Kitts and Nevis Citizenship Costs in 2026: Investment, Fees and Real Budgets

The first question families ask me is “how much?”, and with St Kitts the honest answer always has two parts: the investment and everything around it. The investment is easy to remember. The fees are charged per person and by age, so the final total depends on who is in your application. All figures are in US dollars and come from the CIU and from the BRIDGES calculation checked against the official schedule of fees on 9 August 2026.
The investment itself
| Option | Minimum | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| SISC | $250,000 | Covers the main applicant and up to three dependants, non-refundable |
| Public Benefit Option | $250,000 | Same threshold, but government fees after approval make the total higher |
| Share in an approved development | $325,000 | Property stays yours, resale no earlier than 7 years |
| Private home | $600,000 | Property stays yours, resale no earlier than 7 years |
What a single applicant pays
| Item | SISC | Property from a developer |
|---|---|---|
| Investment | $250,000 | $325,000 |
| Government fees after approval | none | $25,000 |
| Due diligence | $10,000 | $10,000 |
| Application processing | $250 | $250 |
| Bank check | $200 | $200 |
| Certificate of registration | $50 | $50 |
| Biometric passport | $361 | $361 |
| Courier delivery | $180 | $180 |
| Total | from $261,041 | from $361,041 |
BRIDGES notes that the separate biometrics fee mentioned by agents has not been published officially and is not included. The BRIDGES fee, apostilles, translations and medical certificates are calculated separately.
How the family changes the bill
Under SISC the base $250,000 covers a family of up to four. From the fifth person:
- each dependant aged 18 and over adds $50,000;
- each child under 18 adds $25,000.
Due diligence is charged on everyone aged 16 and over: $10,000 for the main applicant and $7,500 for each dependant. Children under 16 do not pay it. The programme sets no limit on the number of dependants.
A couple with two children under 16, SISC
$250,000 contribution, $10,000 + $7,500 due diligence: $267,500, plus processing, bank check, certificates and passports for each person.
A couple, two children under 16 and two parents aged 55 and over
SISC: $250,000 + 2 × $50,000 for the parents = $350,000, and due diligence of $10,000 + 3 × $7,500 = $32,500. With property the investment stays at $325,000. For a family like this the gap between the two options almost disappears, which is why BRIDGES calculates both options for every family of five or more.
When each payment is due
The CIU sets the order clearly: due diligence and mandatory fees on filing, the investment only after the approval in principle letter. In my practice this is one of the strongest points of the programme: the state checks you first, and only then does the main money move.

Adding someone later costs more
The CIU publishes separate fees for additions after approval: $30,000 to add a spouse or another qualifying dependant after the main applicant’s approval in principle, and $7,500 for each child under three born after the certificate of registration was issued, plus the standard fees. This is why I plan the whole family from the start.
Mistakes I see in budgets
- Counting only $250,000 and forgetting the $10,000 and $7,500 due diligence fees.
- Comparing SISC and property for one person and ignoring that property becomes relatively cheaper for large families.
- Treating property as free money. The resale price is set by the market, and the state does not buy it back.
For your own family use the calculator on the BRIDGES programme page or read the BRIDGES article on the cost of St Kitts citizenship. The steps that follow the budget are in my guide to the application and documents. Last checked 21 October 2026.
Questions and answers
Is $250,000 the full price?
No. It is the SISC contribution only. Due diligence of $10,000 for the main applicant, processing, a bank check, the certificate of registration, the passport and courier delivery come on top. For one person BRIDGES calculates from $261,041.
Does the contribution grow with the family?
Not up to four people. From the fifth person each dependant aged 18 and over adds $50,000 and each child under 18 adds $25,000. The $325,000 property threshold does not change with family size.
When is the main money paid?
After the approval in principle letter. Before that you pay only due diligence and the mandatory fees.
